Takriminos

Takriminos is a monster card featured in the McDonald's Promotional Cards set, released in North America in 2002 to coincide with the rising popularity of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. These cards were distributed as part of a promotional campaign at McDonald's restaurants, where customers could obtain a limited selection of cards with a Happy Meal purchase. The set was designed to introduce younger audiences to the game mechanics while offering unique, promotional versions of cards that were otherwise difficult to obtain at the time.

The design of Takriminos follows the aesthetic established by Kazuki Takahashi for the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series. As a normal-monster type, its design focuses on a fantastical creature meant to fill out the lower levels of a player's deck. While the card is often viewed as a collector's item due to its promotional status and distinct card back design compared to the standard releases, it was received primarily as a gateway item for children and casual players who were just beginning their journey into the trading card game during its early international expansion.
