Telekinetic Shocker was introduced in the 2008 expansion set The Duelist Genesis, which marked a significant transition point in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set is widely recognized for debuting the Psychic-type monster category, a mechanic focused on manipulating life points to trigger special abilities.
