Tsukuyomi

Tsukuyomi was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2004 Dark Crisis expansion set. Based on the Japanese deity of the moon, the card was designed to reflect the mythical figure's control over time and cyclical nature. Its effect, which allows a player to flip a monster face-down, became a cornerstone of competitive play during its release era, as it provided a versatile way to neutralize powerful opposing monsters or reset the abilities of one's own cards.

The illustration was crafted in the distinct aesthetic style prevalent in the early 2000s TCG era, emphasizing intricate, ornate armor and a mystical, ethereal presence. Upon its introduction, the card was highly regarded by players for its tactical flexibility.
