Ultimate Offering

Ultimate Offering first appeared in the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, debuting in the Metal Raiders set in 2002. As a continuous trap card, its effect allows players to pay 500 life points to conduct an additional Normal Summon or Set, a mechanic that fundamentally altered the pace of the game by enabling explosive plays. Its design, illustrated with a modest, illustrative style common to early Konami card aesthetics, depicts a ritualistic offering meant to bridge the gap between hand and field.

The card was designed to reward players for sacrificing life points, a resource that was previously viewed as expendable. Over the decades, its capacity to facilitate infinite summons led to its eventual restriction and eventual banning in competitive play due to the degenerate combos it enabled. Its inclusion in the Quarter Century Bonanza set serves as a nostalgic celebration of its historical impact on the game's evolution, featuring the distinct premium foil finish characteristic of modern secret-rare printings.
