Umiiruka

Umiiruka was released as part of the Dark Legends booster set, which functioned as a compilation expansion in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Introduced to the Western market to provide players with accessible reprints of older cards, the set gathered various staples and thematic supports that had previously appeared in distinct, harder-to-find releases. By centralizing these cards under the DLG1 set code, the publishers aimed to simplify deck building for newcomers and competitive players alike.

The card itself depicts a mystical, dolphin-like creature emerging from the ocean, embodying the aesthetic of early Water-attribute support cards. Mechanically, Umiiruka serves as a Field Spell that bolsters the attack power of Water monsters while weakening Fire-attribute monsters. Its design reflects the classic elemental rock-paper-scissors balance strategy that defined the game's initial meta, emphasizing synergy within specific attribute-based deck archetypes.
