Ursarctic Departure

Ursarctic Departure was released in the 2021 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG set Ancient Guardians. The card is a Normal Spell designed to support the Ursarctic archetype, a theme revolving around Level 7 and Level 8 monsters that draw inspiration from celestial bodies and constellations. The set was created to introduce these icy, mechanical bear-like creatures to the game, focusing on a unique summoning mechanic that requires players to tribute monsters from their hand to bring high-level beasts onto the field.

The artwork features the distinctive, cosmic aesthetic characteristic of the Ursarctic line, blending mythological celestial imagery with cold, metallic structures. As a super-rare card, it functions as a recovery tool for the archetype, allowing players to shuffle discarded or banished Ursarctic cards back into the deck or hand. While the theme faced mixed reception from competitive players due to its demanding resource management, the card is frequently cited by collectors for its thematic consistency and striking, ethereal illustration style.
