Vampire Genesis

Vampire Genesis was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the mid-2000s, originally appearing as a high-rarity chase card in the Shadow of Infinity expansion. As a boss monster for the Vampire archetype, it was designed to emphasize the theme of graveyard manipulation, allowing players to discard a Vampire monster to special summon a lower-level Vampire from their graveyard. The card was crafted to reward synergy within undead-focused decks, providing a powerful offensive presence that capitalized on the card's ability to destroy monsters upon entry.

This specific printing, SGX3-ENC01, originates from the Speed Duel GX: Duelists of Shadows box set. Designed for the simplified and faster-paced Speed Duel format, this version retains the original effect while adjusting its accessibility for players engaging with the Duelists of Shadows themed product. The art, featuring a formidable, armored vampire figure, remains consistent with the grim aesthetic associated with the game's undead monster type, and it is well-regarded by players for its role in enabling tactical recursion within the niche constraints of the Speed Duel ruleset.
