Provenance

Where it came from

The Wightprince card was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2014 as part of the Shadow Specters booster set, designed to expand the 'Skull Servant' archetype. This archetype is a long-standing fan favorite known for its humorous and unconventional strategy, which revolves around fueling the graveyard with low-level monsters to empower the titular King of the Skull Servants. The design intent behind Wightprince was to provide the deck with a crucial search-and-dump engine, allowing players to quickly set up their graveyard while simultaneously thinning their deck.

The OTS Tournament Pack 25 version, labeled OP25-EN004, represents a super-rare iteration of the card distributed through the Official Tournament Store program. These packs are designed exclusively for tournament play and community support, rather than mass-market retail. By featuring this card in an OTS pack, Konami provided players with an accessible, foil-embossed version of a utility staple, reflecting the company's ongoing effort to support niche deck builders within the competitive scene.
