Worm Gulse

Worm Gulse was released in the Duel Terminal 1 arcade-exclusive set, which introduced the Worm archetype to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. These cards were designed to work specifically with the specialized cabinets found in Japan, where players would scan physical cards to interact with the game engine. The Worm monsters are themed as an extraterrestrial insectoid race, drawing inspiration from retro science fiction and pulp horror aesthetics.

The card was illustrated with the biomechanical, alien design language characteristic of the Reptile-type Worm monsters introduced during the GX era of the game. When Duel Terminal sets were eventually ported to international markets as booster releases, they became notable for their unique card frames and holographic parallel foil patterns. The design intent was to create a cohesive, swarm-based deck that rewarded players for controlling multiple monsters of the same type on the field.
