Where it came from
2.43 Mini Anime: Fukui-ben Kouza was released in 2021 as a series of short promotional vignettes accompanying the 2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team anime adaptation. These shorts were produced to highlight the local Fukui dialect, which plays a significant role in the series, as the story is set in Fukui Prefecture and centers on the cultural and linguistic nuances of the region.
The animation was produced by David Production, maintaining the aesthetic of the main series while shifting the focus to educational comedy. These segments were designed to provide viewers with context regarding the specific slang and regional speech patterns used by the characters, serving as a supplemental bridge between the source light novel material by Yukako Kabei and the anime adaptation.
