Where it came from
A Day Before Us ZERO serves as a prequel to the popular South Korean web-based animation series produced by LICO. Developed as an ONA (Original Net Animation) released via social media platforms, this installment was created to expand the narrative depth of the franchise, focusing on the formative experiences and background stories of the central characters prior to the events of the original web series.
The animation style, characteristic of LICO’s distinct aesthetic, prioritizes a soft, watercolor-inspired visual palette designed to evoke a sense of youthful nostalgia and emotional intimacy. Upon its release, the series was well-received by fans of the original work for its cohesive storytelling and its ability to provide context to the character relationships that defined the initial seasons of A Day Before Us.
