My name is Sawaguchi Mai. I always get myself involved with my classmate, Kawamura Reo.
Reo is pretty short and has silky hair... In short, she's cute. But sometimes, she can be really obstinate.
I'm trying to do my best to get her to get along with the rest of the class, but since we're both headstrong we always end up fighting.
It's so frustrating, especially since she can't do anything without me around!
But whenever I talk to her, Reo always acts like I'm bothering her. I wonder if she hates me...
But then, just when I got all depressed Reo came up to me and told me,
"You've got it all wrong! I love you, Mai! I love you so much!"
Her confession completely took me by surprise. Could it be that I'm in love with Reo too!?

Where it came from
A Kiss for the Petals - Joined in Love with You was released in 2010 by Studio ChuChu as an animated adaptation within the long-running Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo visual novel series. The franchise originated in the mid-2000s as a collection of yuri-themed visual novels focused on the romantic lives of students at St. Michael's Girls' School. This particular OVA was produced to satisfy the demand of the established fanbase for animated depictions of the central character pairings, maintaining the series' signature gentle, character-focused tone.
The production sought to translate the specific aesthetic of the original character designs—noted for their soft lines and school-life sensibilities—into a short-form animated format. By focusing on the emotional intimacy between the primary characters, the studio aimed to provide a condensed, visually fluid experience that mirrored the visual novel's narrative priorities. The work was received primarily within the niche market of yuri enthusiasts, serving as a companion piece to the broader interactive series that defined the brand's aesthetic direction.
