Mankai Company is a far cry from its glory days as an all-male theater. With only one member left and debt collectors at the door, it’s no wonder Izumi Tachibana finds herself in over her head when she boldly confronts the Yakuza’s loan sharks, promising to bring her father’s theater back into the spotlight.
She might be able to recruit enough talent, but can they bloom into the actors she needs?

Where it came from
A3! Season Autumn & Winter was produced by studio infinite and released in 2020 as the second half of the anime adaptation of the mobile game A3! by Liber Entertainment. The series follows the struggle of the Mankai Company, a struggling theater troupe attempting to recruit new actors to save their stage. This season specifically focuses on the audition and development of the Autumn and Winter troupes, exploring the unique personal challenges and motivations of the new recruits as they learn to work together.
The anime maintains the visual identity established in the mobile game, emphasizing character-driven storytelling and the theatrical theme. The production aimed to translate the game's episodic structure into a coherent narrative format, highlighting the dramatic growth of the performers. Reception was centered on the series' ability to flesh out the backstories of the ensemble cast, appealing primarily to fans of the original game's character dynamics and those interested in the idol-adjacent subgenre of performance-focused anime.
