Accel World: Acchel World.

Accel World: Acchel World is a series of nine short, comedic episodes released in 2012 alongside the main Accel World television series. Produced by J.C.Staff, these shorts served as lighthearted bonus content included with the limited edition Blu-ray and DVD releases of the primary anime. They were designed to offer a humorous, 'chibi-style' perspective on the characters and situations introduced in Reki Kawahara’s light novel source material, providing a tonal counterpoint to the intense, high-stakes virtual reality gaming narrative of the main series.

The animation and character designs for these shorts were crafted to be simplified and expressive, focusing on slapstick humor and meta-commentary about the production itself. While the main series was praised for its ambitious action sequences, the Acchel World segments were well-received by fans as a charming diversion that allowed for character development outside the pressures of the Brain Burst game. These shorts have since become a notable fixture in the home video legacy of the franchise, reflecting the industry trend of the era to package collectible shorts with premium media releases.
