Acchi Kocchi Youchien

Acchi Kocchi Youchien was released in 2012 as a special bundled episode for the anime adaptation of the four-panel manga series Acchi Kocchi, commonly known in English as Place to Place. Produced by AIC, the special was created as a bonus feature to accompany the home video release of the main series, which had aired earlier that year. The narrative serves as a playful departure from the standard high school setting of the original work, reimagining the main characters as children in a preschool environment.

The character designs were overseen by Atsuko Watanabe, who maintained the soft, whimsical aesthetic of Ishiki's original manga illustrations while adapting the cast into a younger, more stylized format. The special was received by fans as a lighthearted, self-contained experiment that leaned heavily into the comedy and 'moe' archetypes established in the television series. It remains a notable example of the common practice in the early 2010s of using specialized bonus content to deepen fan engagement with popular niche titles.
