Ai Uta: since 2007

Ai Uta, released in 2007 by the vocal group GReeeeN, emerged as a defining track in the J-pop landscape during the late 2000s. Conceived as a heartfelt ballad exploring themes of gratitude and unconditional love, the song was written and composed by the members of the group while they balanced their medical studies with their musical careers. It was released as their third single, following the group's unconventional approach of keeping their identities hidden to focus entirely on their musical output.

The composition is noted for its acoustic-driven arrangement and sincere lyrical delivery, which resonated deeply with a broad Japanese audience. Upon its release, it became a massive commercial success, consistently ranking as one of the most downloaded ringtones and digital tracks of the era. The song's enduring popularity has solidified its status as a staple for weddings and graduation ceremonies, praised for its simple, evocative message that transcended the standard pop music formulas of the time.
