Aikatsu on Parade!

Aikatsu on Parade! was produced by Bandai Namco Pictures and premiered in 2019 as a celebratory follow-up to the long-running Aikatsu! franchise. The series was designed as a crossover event, serving as a culmination of the series' history by bringing together characters from the original Aikatsu!, Aikatsu Stars!, and Aikatsu Friends! iterations. The narrative centers on a new protagonist, Raki Kiseki, who uses a special Aikatsu Card to bridge the worlds of the previous idols, allowing the production team to showcase iconic performances and designs from across the franchise's nearly decade-long run.

The animation direction and visual style were crafted to honor the distinct aesthetics of the preceding series while maintaining a cohesive look for the new entries. It was received by the fanbase as a nostalgia-driven tribute, emphasizing the interconnected nature of the idol competition theme that Bandai Namco had established. By blending original animation with classic musical tracks, the series sought to synthesize the evolution of the property's design philosophy, from its early digital aesthetic to the more fluid, high-energy sequences seen in later installments.
