Where it came from
Amagami SS+ plus was produced by studio AIC and released in 2012 as a direct sequel to the 2010 anime adaptation of the popular Amagami dating simulation game. The specials were bundled with the home video releases to provide further closure for the six heroines, exploring the relationships established in the first season while refining the romantic progression of each narrative arc.
The series design follows the aesthetic established by the original game, characterized by a soft, warm visual palette intended to emphasize the nostalgic tone of high school romance. The directing staff aimed to maintain the intimate, episodic structure of the source material, a choice that was well-received by fans of the franchise for its dedication to character-specific storytelling rather than broad, sweeping plot developments.
