Anemone is a work produced in order to find answers about hopes and to live in the future. Currently, the annual number of suicides in Japan is said to be more than 30,000 people for the last 10 years. Yes, about ten times the amount of soldiers that died in the Iraq war.
I don't have the power to resolve this problem which Japan holds. But with the power of animation I hope to awake even a few dreams and a little bit of desire in the people that watch it, and that they'll have the courage to live in the future.

Where it came from
Released in 2011, Anemone serves as an original video animation (OVA) that expands upon the narrative universe of the Eureka Seven franchise. Produced by Studio Bones, the project was designed to revisit the series' complex themes of connection and existential growth, functioning as a standalone artistic exploration within the broader alternate-reality framework of the Eureka Seven AO series and the later Hi-Evolution film trilogy.
The production utilized the signature aesthetic developed by character designer Kenichi Yoshida, emphasizing fluid, expressive movement and the distinctive mecha-design language that defined the original series. While the franchise has seen varied reception over the years, this OVA was crafted to satisfy long-term enthusiasts by providing additional depth to the character of Anemone, balancing melancholic storytelling with the high-stakes action sequences characteristic of the studio's output.
