Where it came from
Anitore! XX: Jigoku no Training serves as a supplemental episode for the Anitore! (Anime de Training) series, which first aired in 2015. Produced by Rising Force and directed by Atsushi Nigorikawa, the franchise was designed as an interactive fitness initiative. The intent was to blend the aesthetic conventions of the late-night moe anime genre with genuine exercise instruction, encouraging viewers to perform routines alongside animated characters as they offer vocal encouragement.
The 2017 special continuation maintains the series' unique instructional format, which features character designs by Masahito Onoda. The production is notable for its specific niche in the 'edutainment' subgenre, where the artistic focus is less on complex narrative and more on the utility of the character movements. It was received primarily as a curiosity by the anime community, appreciated for its commitment to a highly specific and functional interactive premise.
