Released in 2006, this educational DVD is part of the long-running Anpanman to Hajime yo! series, which translates to 'Let's Start with Anpanman!'. Created as a pedagogical tool for toddlers, the series leverages the immense popularity of Takashi Yanase’s iconic superhero character to teach fundamental concepts like colors, numbers, and shapes. The content was designed to be interactive and gentle, aligning with the series' reputation for fostering early childhood development through familiar, comforting animation.

The visual design of this specific volume adheres to the classic aesthetic established by the TMS Entertainment animation studio, which has produced the Anpanman franchise since the late 1980s. The production team focused on high-contrast visuals and repetitive, melodic themes to help young viewers grasp basic arithmetic and geometry. Upon release, the series became a staple in Japanese households, praised for its straightforward educational structure and the enduring, wholesome appeal of its lead character.
