Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo. Mini Anime

Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo, or O Maidens in Your Savage Season, originated as a manga written by Mari Okada and illustrated by Nao Emoto. The narrative was adapted into a 2019 television anime series, which garnered critical attention for its earnest and occasionally unflinching exploration of female adolescence, sexuality, and the complexities of growing up. The story follows members of a high school literature club as they navigate the confusion and turbulence of their burgeoning desires.

The animation was produced by studio Lay-duce under the direction of Masahiro Ando and Takuro Tsukada. The production sought to capture the distinct, delicate art style of Emoto’s original manga, focusing on internal monologue and emotional sincerity. While the primary series is a television production, it fits within a broader lineage of late-night seinen anime that prioritize character development and psychological realism, receiving praise for its mature thematic handling and high-quality character designs.
