Arad: Suming Zhi Men

Arad: Suming Zhi Men, known in English as Arad: Gate of the Underworld, was produced by Success and released in 2020. This animated series is part of a broader multimedia expansion based on the globally popular Dungeon & Fighter franchise, a South Korean role-playing game developed by Neople. The series was designed to provide a cohesive narrative backdrop for the game's deep lore, specifically focusing on the events surrounding the Demon Gate and the Arad continent.

The animation style and character designs were crafted to align with the distinct, stylized aesthetic established in the franchise’s long-running game iteration. By prioritizing the high-octane combat mechanics and fantasy world-building synonymous with Dungeon & Fighter, the production aimed to satisfy the existing player base. While it serves as a piece of franchise expansion, its reception was largely tied to how well it translated the complex, episodic nature of the game’s dungeons into a linear television format.
