Where it came from
Released in early 2024 by Hypergryph, 'Zao Li Qiankun' is a celebratory ONA (Original Net Animation) produced as part of the Arknights 'Xinchun Hui' lunar new year special. It was created to celebrate the Chinese New Year alongside the game's high-production promotional materials, functioning as a high-quality animation piece that expands upon the lore and aesthetics of the game's Eastern-inspired regions like Lungmen and Yan.
The production utilized the signature stylized 3D and 2D hybrid aesthetic characteristic of Hypergryph’s internal animation team. By blending traditional cultural motifs with the game's gritty, tactical sci-fi identity, the studio aimed to create a visually immersive narrative experience that resonated with the global player base. Upon its release, the work was well-received for its fluid animation quality and its ability to bridge the gap between in-game assets and cinematic storytelling.
