Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! Hokorashiki Bokou ni Shukusai wo

Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! was originally conceived as a four-panel gag manga illustrated by Hori, serialized in the game's official Japanese Twitter account and later collected into volumes. The series serves as a lighthearted, slice-of-life counterbalance to the more dramatic narrative arcs found in the core Azur Lane mobile game and its previous anime adaptations. This specific OVA, titled Hokorashiki Bokou ni Shukusai wo, was produced by Yostar Pictures to extend the anime series' breezy aesthetic beyond the initial television broadcast.

The production sought to maintain the distinct, chibi-influenced visual style established by Hori's manga, focusing on the comedic daily interactions between the shipgirls at their home base. By prioritizing character-driven humor and domestic scenarios over the intense naval combat associated with the franchise, the work was well-received by fans looking for a more intimate perspective on the game's large roster of characters, successfully transitioning the manga's tone into a cohesive animated format.
