The Karugamo High School Baseball Team has not been doing well. After losing badly to the Eagles, many of the players leave, and the team now has only eight players, one too few to play a game.
Going against his principles, the main character Harumaki Shunpei decides to buy a baseball robot. However, since he does not have enough money, he ends up buying the maid robot named Azusa. Even though Azusa has a warm heart and strong determination, it doesn't appear that she stands a chance against her adversaries who were top-of-the-line baseball robots. The team's only hope seems to lie in a secret buried within Azusa's clouded past.

Where it came from
Azusa Will Help! was produced by TMS Entertainment as a 2004 special connected to the popular Hamtaro franchise. It was conceived during the height of the series' global popularity, serving as a spin-off narrative intended to expand the character roster and provide a lighthearted, standalone viewing experience for the show's established young audience. The project reflects the studio's focus on maintaining the aesthetic consistency and whimsical tone that defined the original animation work.
The character design and visual direction adhered strictly to the established style guide developed by Ritsuko Kawai for the Hamtaro universe. By emphasizing expressive, soft-lined characterizations and a bright, approachable color palette, the creative team sought to maintain a cohesive visual identity across the franchise's varied media. The special was well-received within the context of the series, functioning as a successful promotional and narrative extension that reinforced the brand's long-standing appeal in the early 2000s.
