Backkom Bear: Agent 008

Backkom Bear: Agent 008, released in 2017, is the second feature film iteration of the popular South Korean animated character originally known as Bernard. The project was produced to transition the slapstick, non-verbal humor of the original shorts into a more structured, narrative-driven spy-comedy format, capitalizing on the character's established international recognition in countries like China and South Korea.

The film was produced by RG Animation Studios, known for creating the original Backkom shorts. The visual design focused on translating the simple, expressive aesthetic of the 3D-animated bear into a high-stakes espionage setting. While the film aimed to appeal to a global family audience, reception was mixed, with critics often noting the challenge of sustaining the character's hallmark silent physical comedy across a full-length feature production.
