The glittering spotlights. The sparkling, fluffy, cute outfits. The charming voices while dancing with bright smiles. Under the dazzling lights on the big city stage, these would be the mermaid idols who swim and dance freely underwater.
But far from this big city, the girls once lived in the peaceful village of Parrel. These girls, who would not even imagine such a glittering future for themselves, are instead just raising a fuss over the snack cakes they are eating. This is the story of the cheerful daily life of mermaids who strive their hardest everyday.

Where it came from
Bermuda Triangle: Colorful Pastorale was produced by Seven Arcs Pictures and aired in early 2019 as a spin-off of the Bushiroad multimedia franchise Cardfight!! Vanguard. The series was conceptualized to expand the lore of the Bermuda Triangle clan, a fan-favorite group of idol-themed mermaids within the card game's universe. By shifting the focus from competitive card battling to the daily lives and performance careers of these characters, the studio aimed to explore the charm and camaraderie inherent in the game's lighter-themed card sets.
The production sought to emphasize a bright, whimsical aesthetic, utilizing character designs that leaned heavily into the idol genre's visual language. Directed by Junji Nishimura, the series followed the group of mermaids as they navigated their careers in the underwater city of Paradisole. While the show was developed to appeal primarily to existing fans of the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise, its reception was centered on its departure from the high-stakes intensity typically associated with the main series, offering a more tranquil and character-driven narrative experience.
