Bokura no LIVE Kimi to no LIFE

Released in August 2010, Bokura no LIVE Kimi to no LIFE serves as the debut single for the Love Live! multimedia project. Conceived as a collaborative effort between ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G's Magazine, the music label Lantis, and the animation studio Sunrise, the project sought to bridge the gap between idol music culture and anime fandom. The title track was designed to introduce the nine core characters of μ's, framing them as a fledgling school idol group striving to save their institution, establishing the optimistic, high-energy tone that would define the franchise.

The production focused on blending character-driven storytelling with professional pop aesthetics. The accompanying music video, animated by Sunrise, was a technical milestone for the project, utilizing a hybrid of 2D character art and early 3D computer-generated dance sequences. While the initial release saw modest sales, it provided the essential narrative foundation that allowed the Love Live! franchise to grow into a massive cultural phenomenon, eventually spawning numerous sequels, live concerts, and successful international spin-offs.
