Where it came from
Released in 2016, this short film was originally produced as a bonus feature included with the Blu-ray and DVD editions of Boruto: Naruto the Movie. It serves as a narrative bridge, detailing the lighthearted yet significant events of the day Naruto Uzumaki finally assumes his role as the Seventh Hokage, a moment long awaited by fans of the original series.
The animation was produced by Studio Pierrot and directed by Hiroyuki Yamashita, who sought to capture a sense of closure and humor for the long-running franchise. By focusing on the chaotic domestic life of the Uzumaki family and the comedic consequences of Naruto missing his own inauguration, the short was designed to humanize the legendary ninja and emphasize the themes of family legacy that define the Boruto era.
