B'T-X NEO

B'T-X NEO was released in 1997 as a four-episode original video animation series that serves as a direct conclusion to the televised B'T-X anime. Produced by Kadokawa Shoten and animated by TMS Entertainment, the project was created to provide a definitive resolution to the story following the end of the main series run. It adapts the final chapters of the original manga authored by Masami Kurumada, moving the narrative away from the television series' pacing to mirror the darker, more compressed tone of the source material.

The character and mecha designs retain the signature aesthetic of Masami Kurumada, known for his work on Saint Seiya, characterized by flowing lines and an emphasis on the bond between the protagonists and their mechanical B'T partners. While the series was aimed at a loyal fan base seeking closure to the original broadcast, it is often noted for its departure from the lighter tone of the television series. It represents a specific era of late 90s animation, capturing a transitional period where high-budget home video releases were frequently used to wrap up complex serialized manga adaptations.
