Burn the Witch was produced by Studio Colorido as an original net animation, based on the manga series of the same name by Tite Kubo. Released in 2020, the project serves as a spin-off of Kubo's long-running Bleach franchise, shifting the setting from Soul Society to Reverse London. The adaptation was directed by Tatsuro Kawano, who sought to maintain the sleek aesthetic of the manga while leveraging the studio's fluid animation style to emphasize the verticality and magical combat of the narrative.

The production was notable for its streamlined approach, debuting as a three-part film in Japanese theaters alongside its digital distribution.
