Butareba -The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig-

Butareba -The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig- was produced by Aniplex and adapted for television in 2023, based on the light novel series written by Takuma Sakai and illustrated by Asagi Tohsaka. The series centers on a protagonist who finds himself reincarnated as a pig, a premise that satirizes the conventions of the isekai genre by introducing a humorous, fantastical dynamic between the transformed man and a young woman who possesses the ability to read his thoughts.

The production sought to balance the absurdist, lighthearted nature of the source material with the technical polish expected from an Aniplex title. While the visual direction aimed to capture the charm of the character designs, the series was received as a niche entry within a saturated market, noted primarily for its unconventional central concept and the dynamic between its two primary characters.
