Where it came from
Byoushin wo Kamu is the debut single by the Japanese group Zutomayo, released in 2018. The track emerged during the early internet-centric wave of J-pop, where the anonymity of the project—led by the singer-songwriter ACA-Ne—helped build intrigue and focus the audience's attention on the music and visual style rather than traditional celebrity culture.
The distinctive music video, directed and animated by the artist Waboku, played a crucial role in the work's reception. By utilizing a fluid, surrealist aesthetic that complemented the complex, genre-bending composition, the video garnered millions of views and established the group’s signature blend of high-energy alternative rock and emotive, character-driven storytelling.
