Where it came from
By the Grace of the Gods 2 was released in 2023 as the second season of the anime adaptation based on the light novel series written by Roy and illustrated by Ririnra. Produced by Maho Film, the series continues the story of Ryoma Takebayashi, a middle-aged salaryman reincarnated into a fantasy world where he leads a peaceful life utilizing his knowledge and magical prowess to care for various slimes.
The production sought to maintain the gentle, 'iyashikei' or healing atmosphere established in the first season, focusing on low-stakes adventure and character growth. While the series received moderate attention for its cozy aesthetic and straightforward narrative, it is noted for its departure from high-octane fantasy tropes, opting instead for a deliberate, tranquil pacing that resonated with viewers looking for lighthearted fantasy content.
