Where it came from
C3: Outdoor School Confusion was released in 2012 as an original video animation, or OVA, intended to supplement the broadcast run of the C3 light novel-based anime series. Produced by the studio Silver Link and licensed for English-language distribution by Funimation, this special episode serves as a lighthearted expansion of the series' supernatural action-comedy premise, focusing on the comedic dynamics between the central character Haruaki Yachi and the personified cursed objects surrounding him.
The production sought to maintain the visual consistency and character design established by the main series, which adapted Hazuki Minase's light novel illustrations by Sasorigatame. As a side-story format, the episode was received by fans as a traditional 'beach or school trip' filler installment, prioritizing character interaction and situational humor over the darker, lore-heavy narrative arcs present in the main episodes.
