Where it came from
Candy☆Boy EX02: Theory of Happiness Sharing was released in 2009 as a special OVA episode within the Candy☆Boy series, produced by the animation studio AIC. The project originated as a web-based anime series centered on the daily lives and burgeoning relationship between twin sisters Kanade and Yukino Sakurai. This specific entry was designed to expand upon the narrative established in the original series, focusing on themes of intimacy and personal discovery within a domestic setting.
The visual direction for the series is noted for its delicate, soft-focus aesthetic, which emphasizes a gentle atmosphere suited to the slice-of-life genre. The production staff aimed to create an evocative, character-driven experience that balanced subtle comedy with emotional sincerity. Upon its release, the series garnered a dedicated following within the niche of yuri-themed animation, where it is often discussed for its lighthearted tone and emphasis on the internal lives of its protagonists.
