Cang Yuan Tu: Dongning Fu Fanwai Pian

Cang Yuan Tu: Dongning Fu Fanwai Pian is a specialized side-story production released as part of the broader Cang Yuan Tu (The Macroverse) franchise, which is based on the popular web novel by I Eat Tomatoes. This supplemental ONA project was commissioned to expand upon the lore of the Dongning Prefecture, providing viewers with additional narrative depth that complements the primary adaptation produced by Sparkly Key Animation. It represents the collaborative efforts of the studio China South Angel, which focused on translating the expansive, high-stakes martial arts fantasy of the original literature into a visual format consistent with contemporary Chinese animation standards.

The design and aesthetic direction of this ONA were intended to align with the established visual language of the Cang Yuan Tu series, emphasizing fluid combat choreography and a dark, gritty tone synonymous with the genre. While the central series is frequently recognized for its ambitious 3D character modeling, this side-story installment serves as an atmospheric bridge for fans of the source material. It was received by the community as a bridge episode, highlighting the technical versatility of the animation teams involved in capturing the visceral energy of the original martial arts cultivation world.
