Where it came from
The Cardfight!! Vanguard 15th Anniversary PV was released in 2024 to commemorate a decade and a half of the trading card game franchise. Produced by the acclaimed studio MAPPA, the project was intended to serve as a high-fidelity visual celebration of the series' history, emphasizing the evolution of the card game and its associated anime adaptations.
The animation reflects MAPPA's signature dynamic style, characterized by fluid movement and dramatic lighting effects that elevate the intensity of the card battles depicted. By tasking such a prominent studio with this tribute, Bushiroad aimed to bridge the gap between the game's long-term fan base and a new generation of viewers, focusing on the core aesthetic appeal and character-driven stakes that have defined Vanguard since its inception in 2011.
