Where it came from
The Asia Circuit arc was produced by TMS Entertainment and broadcast on TV Tokyo starting in 2012 as the second major season of the Cardfight!! Vanguard anime series. It serves as a direct narrative follow-up to the initial series, shifting the focus from local tournaments in Japan to an international competition known as the VF Circuit, designed to expand the franchise's world-building and introduce new global rivals.
The design of this season was centered on high-stakes competitive play, emphasizing a shift toward team-based dynamics and the introduction of the Limit Break mechanic, which became a cornerstone of the accompanying trading card game's evolution. While the animation style remained consistent with the series' established aesthetic, the shift to the international tournament setting was received by fans as a significant escalation in both plot complexity and the technical depth of the featured card battles.
