Cat Planet Cuties: Come Drop By

Cat Planet Cuties: Come Drop By was released by Funimation in 2011 as an original video animation, serving as an extension to the twelve-episode television series originally titled Asobi ni Iku yo!. The project originated from the light novel series by Okina Kamino, which explores the comedic and science-fiction premise of a teenage boy who encounters a feline-eared alien scout. This OVA was produced during a period when Funimation was aggressively expanding its catalog of niche, fanservice-oriented anime for the North American market.

The character designs and animation style maintain the aesthetic established by AIC Plus+, focusing on the genre-typical blend of lighthearted slapstick and sci-fi tropes. As a standalone addition, the OVA was designed to provide extra content for fans of the show, though it received mixed reviews from critics who noted its reliance on the established tropes of the series. Like much of the franchise, it remains a notable example of the mid-2010s trend of releasing short-form supplements to keep television series relevant among domestic collectors.
