Catblue Dynamite

Catblue Dynamite was released in 2006 as a two-episode original net animation produced by Romanov Films. Emerging during a period when Japanese studios were experimenting with the direct-to-internet distribution model, the production was conceived as a high-octane homage to classic action-adventure tropes. It draws heavily from a pulpy, cinematic aesthetic, aiming to capture the energy of vintage heist films while utilizing the then-evolving digital animation techniques of the mid-2000s.

The series is noted for its distinctive visual character design, which emphasizes bold lines and a saturated color palette to distinguish itself from the more muted television anime of the era. Upon its release, it gained a niche following among animation enthusiasts who appreciated its unconventional pacing and stylistic flair. While it remained a relatively obscure title outside of dedicated online fandom circles, it is often cited as a representative artifact of the experimental ONA era.
