Where it came from
Cat's Eye (2025) is an original net animation produced by LIDENFILMS, serving as a modern reimagining of Tsukasa Hojo’s iconic 1980s manga series. The production was developed to coincide with the milestone anniversary of the original work, aiming to introduce the legendary Kisugi sisters to a contemporary audience while retaining the stylistic flair of the heist-genre classic.
The character designs and animation direction were crafted to balance retro aesthetics with modern digital techniques. By emphasizing high-octane action sequences and the mysterious, dual-life nature of the protagonists, the studio sought to honor the source material's legacy as a cornerstone of 1980s anime culture while updating the pacing for the 2025 streaming landscape.
