Where it came from
Cherry & GAL's↑↑ was produced by the studio EDGE and released in 2018 as an original video animation. It emerged during a period when the studio was exploring stylized, niche adult-oriented narratives, focusing on specific character dynamics and vibrant visual aesthetics common to the genre at the time.
The production sought to balance character-driven interactions with the high-contrast art style favored by the studio's illustrators. Upon release, it served as a characteristic entry in the studio's portfolio, aimed primarily at existing fans of the label's aesthetic and narrative themes rather than a broader mainstream audience.
