Chihayafuru 2: Waga Mi Yo ni Furu Nagame Seshi Ma ni

Chihayafuru 2: Waga Mi Yo ni Furu Nagame Seshi Ma ni was released in 2013 as an original video animation accompanying the limited edition of the twenty-second volume of Yuki Suetsugu's manga series. Produced by Madhouse and distributed by VAP, the episode was created to bridge narrative gaps between the second season of the anime adaptation and the source material. It captures the series' characteristic blend of competitive karuta intensity and the nuanced emotional growth of the protagonist, Chihaya Ayase.

The animation reflects the aesthetic established by director Morio Asaka, who sought to translate Suetsugu’s delicate, expressive art style into fluid motion. The title itself is a reference to a poem from the Hyakunin Isshu, grounding the narrative in the classical literary tradition that forms the backbone of the series. Upon its release, it was received as a refined supplemental work, appreciated by enthusiasts for maintaining the high production quality and character-driven focus that defined the broader television broadcast.
