Where it came from
Chikan no Licence is a two-episode original video animation produced by the studio MS Pictures and released in 2012. Belonging to the adult anime genre, it was created during a period when small boutique studios were frequently adapting niche erotic manga for the direct-to-video market. These productions were typically marketed toward adult fans of graphic, transgressive storytelling, prioritizing explicit content over complex animation techniques or narrative depth.
The animation reflects the typical minimalist aesthetic of mid-range adult studio work from the early 2010s, utilizing a straightforward character design style common to the era's erotic animation. As is standard for titles of this specific nature, the work was received as a functional piece of adult entertainment rather than a critical or artistic endeavor, gaining notice only within the specific subculture of adult anime enthusiasts who tracked releases from specialized studios like MS Pictures.
