Where it came from
Chi’s Sweet Adventure: Summer Vacation was produced in 2024 by Marza Animation Planet, serving as a continuation of the popular franchise based on the manga by Kanata Konami. This ONA project was designed to expand the narrative universe of the titular kitten, Chi, maintaining the series' signature aesthetic of warmth and gentle humor that has defined the property since its original debut.
The production leans into the technical capabilities of Marza Animation Planet, which specializes in high-quality 3D computer-generated imagery. By utilizing cel-shaded techniques, the studio sought to bridge the gap between the expressive, hand-drawn look of the source material and the fluidity of modern digital animation, aiming to capture a younger audience while satisfying longtime fans of the franchise's visual style.
