Where it came from
Cinderella Girls Gekijou Specials were produced by Gathering in 2017 as part of a line of collectible figures based on the popular mobile game The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls. These figures were specifically designed to capture the whimsical, chibi-style aesthetic of the game's spin-off short animation series, known for its humorous and lighthearted character interactions.
The design team at Gathering focused on translating the distinct two-dimensional art style of the Gekijou shorts into three-dimensional PVC forms. By emphasizing exaggerated expressions and dynamic poses, the series aimed to appeal directly to the game's dedicated fan base, providing a physical manifestation of the characters' personalities that departed from the more realistic proportions found in standard scale figures.
