Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito 3 - Kagayakumono Ten Yori Otsu Picture Drama

Released in 2015, this picture drama served as a special bonus feature accompanying the third installment of the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled series. Produced by Sunrise, the project was intended to bridge narrative gaps and expand upon the internal lives of the European-based cast during the conflict between the Holy Britannian Empire and the European Union. These supplemental vignettes were designed to offer fans a more intimate look at the characters' downtime, shifting away from the high-stakes mecha combat that defined the theatrical releases.

The creative direction for this piece followed the established visual identity of the Akito the Exiled series, which featured character designs by CLAMP and animation character designs by Hidekazu Shimamura. By focusing on static, illustrated sequences paired with voice acting, the production team aimed to deepen character development within the constraints of the limited release schedule. It was generally received as a thoughtful, if niche, expansion of the Code Geass lore, catering specifically to those deeply invested in the expanded narrative landscape of the spin-off series.
