Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion II - Transgression

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion II - Transgression was released in 2018 as the second installment in a trilogy of compilation films produced by studio Sunrise. These movies were created to re-edit and condense the original 2006 television series, incorporating new scenes and updated animation to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the franchise. The project served to bridge the gap between the original series and the follow-up film, Lelouch of the Rebellion III - Glorification, while introducing the story to a new generation of viewers.

The film was directed by Goro Taniguchi, who sought to refine the narrative pacing of the original anime while maintaining the complex themes of rebellion, political philosophy, and internal conflict. Character designs were provided by the creative team CLAMP, whose distinct, elegant aesthetic remains a defining visual hallmark of the series. Upon its release, the trilogy was received as a comprehensive retrospective that allowed long-time fans to revisit the intricate plot threads of Lelouch vi Britannia's journey with enhanced technical production quality.
